
Upload Instructions
How do I upload my music?
There are 2 upload methods. The first involves signing up for a free trial with Disco, and the second involves editing metadata in Itunes and uploading through our upload link.
DISCO Instructions:
Using Disco’s 1 month free trial, create an account.
Once your account is created, click and drag your lossless audio files (wav, aif, flac) into the disco uploader on the right hand side.
Enter all of the metadata into each track, including the writers IPI numbers in song’s “comments” section and song splits on the “writers” tab of each song.
Add any album artwork
Save the playlist
Go to the top of the newly created playlist and click share.
Enter our email into the Disco user box: info@musos.us
Manual Tag Upload Instructions:
Create a folder on desktop
Drag in wav files
Import wavs into iTunes
Convert wavs to AIFFs (see how to do that here)
Fill out the metadata fields in iTunes with basic information:
Title - Title and or Title (Instr) or Title (feat. Artist) [DJ Remix]
Artist - Artist name
Album
Genre (no more than 3)
Year (of release)
Composer (Composer 1 (50%) ASCAP, Composer 2 (50%) BMI, etc
BPM
ISRC
Comments (Your full name and email, composer’s IPI numbers)
Lyrics (extremely helpful when searching for themed creative briefs)
Add artwork
Remove Wav files from folder on Desktop (they are no longer required)
Drag AIFF files from iTunes into the folder on Desktop
Add band press photos, music video files, track artwork file, bio document,
Create writer split sheets with song title, all composer names, their % splits, PRO affiliation and IPI numbers, master splits or ownership
Highlight all the files inside the folder and drag onto our DISCO upload page
On the form, fill out the playlist name field “Artist - Album/Single/EP name”
Click Send at the bottom of the page
